Handcarved and handprinted original linocut prints. I use oil based ink and specialist printing paper such as Japanese Hosho, Nepalese Lokta. I also use thicker paper such as Fabriano and Somerset. Some prints I hand burnish using a beautiful glass baren, or use an antique Albion printing press at the Northern Print studio in Newcastle. Prints will be mounted, ready to be framed.

Winter Hare - Original Linocut Print

I am slightly obsessed with hares, such mystical creatures. “Winter Hare” is handprinted onto Snowdon paper and double mounted. Will fit into a standard A3 frame (approx 30cm x 42cm)

This linocut print is handprinted onto beautiful, handmade natural Lokta Khadi paper using black oil based ink. I’m lucky enough to live in a designated “Dark Skies Area” and the stars and planets are amazing on a clear night. This was inspiration for this linocut of a hare with stars above. Handprinted onto Japanese Hosho paper, the image measure approx 15cm x 15cm, mounted ready to frame in a standard 30cm x 30cm frame (approx 12” x12”)

Old Brock - Original linocut print

Original linocut print of a badger in the moonlight. In our last home we had badgers visit our garden every night, I used to love watching them snuffling about. Individually hand printed onto Japanese Shoji paper using black oil based ink. Print size 15cm x 15cm, will be doubled mounted ready to fit into a standard 30cm x 30cm frame.

Lotus Flower - Original Linocut Print

Inspired by my trip to India & Nepal, this lotus flower is printed on handmade Nepalese paper. The Lotus flower has existed for millions of years, surviving the Ice Age. It is the National flower of India (pink lotus) and is known as the flower of life. It is sacred in many cultures. It represents spiritual enlightenment, birth, growth & purity. Different colours have different meanings, this is printed red which represents compassion, love, generosity. Lokta paper has been handmade in Nepal for centuries. It is made from the bark of the Daphne Papyrus bush which only grows at altitude in the Himalayas. It is fully sustainable as the roots are unharmed and so continually regenerates. No acid or chemical are used to colour the paper, only natural dyes. PRINT only. Variable edition handprinted oil based ink on Nepalese Lokta paper, available in red or green.
