      The Confessions of Isobel Gowdie

      By the 17th century hares were were believed to be witches’ familiars and shapeshifters. Isobel Gowdie was a Scottish woman is also known as “The Witch of Auldearn” and at her witch trials in 1662, she confessed that she and her sisters could recite a spell and turn into a hare. These are her words. Two colour screen print on Fabriano paper, mounted in black 12” x 12”.
